Chaz is one of a growing number of traditional painters who have moved into the new, exciting realm of Contemporary Art, using the many tools and techniques available for years to commercial artists, designers, and illustrators. Working in layers, and using the new digital brushes, colors, and other tools has allowed Chaz to indulge in the freedom found in the digital world of contemporary style; moving easily from exquisite detail to a total lack thereof, in a wide range of images, created for display on the new electronic media, or in the brilliant hues of Iris Giclee prints.

Chaz has also made his mark as a professional photographer. His photographic works have been seen in many TV commercials as well as magazines and newspapers. But art and photography are only a small part of the multi-talented life experience of Chaz.....

Several years ago, "Chaz" was known as "Chuck" Daugherty, a highly popular radio disc jockey in Michigan and California. (You'll find him listed as a 'legend' in the Michigan Rock and Roll Hall of Fame) Chuck was also a TV announcer, where he was seen on the news, and also doing many live commercials and shows, even getting an occasional pie-in-the-face from Soupy Sales. As a network announcer for ABC, Chuck's voice was heard many times from coast to coast.... and also as a 'voice-over' announcer for many national TV and radio commercials.

Among his many other talents Chaz was a professional musician and composer, even playing harmonica with the Harmonicats and recording with the NBC Concert Orchestra when he was a teenager.

His award winning artwork has been displayed in Fine Art Museums as well as art fairs and galleries.
