Description
It's evening on the Black River on the big Race Day, for the annual Port Huron to Machinac Island saleboat and yacht races, and the sailboats have all gone, but some of the crowds are still here. This is where the Black River empties into the Saint Claire river, just below the race starting point at Port Huron Michigan, and you can see the Canadian shore directly across on the other side. The Saint Clair river, in the background, is wide enough for the ocean and Great Lakes freighters to navigate past each other, and flows from the South end of Lake Huron, flowing few miles south to Lake St. Claire, which empties into the Detroit River, which flows past Detroit Michigan, on one side, and Windsor Canada on the other, finally emptying into another of the Great Lakes, Lake Erie, with Toledo and the State of Ohio on the South side, and running all the way East past Cleveland, almost to Niagra Falls, and Buffalo New York, on one side, and Toronto Canada on the other. A nice trip....You should do it sometime.
