Description
Bayou Country is also called Cajun Country, and it's just outside New Orleans Louisiana, where the folks speak a kind of 'Pigeon-French', and the favorite food is called 'Gumbo'. You can be sure that Crawfish are also on the menu, along with some 'Gator' meat.
There are boat tours of the swamps available for visitors to the New Orleans area whose natural beauty and amazing plant, bird, and animal life are among the area's most popular attractions.
At one time these were said to be the hiding places for pirates who also, according to legend, were said to have hidden some of their 'booty' and treasure in these marshes where it would be guarded by the snakes and gators!.
This is also the same area where they shoot the TV series "Swamp People" for the History Channel.
